ABSTRACT

This seminar offers an accessible introduction to Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and its vital role in personal and professional lives, particularly for those in emotionally demanding contexts or navigating complex parent-child experiences.

It will explore the meaning of EQ, its role in connecting with others, the nature of stress and psychotrauma through Franz Ruppert’s split psyche model, and a full walkthrough of core human emotions.
The content is adapted for audiologists, ENT professionals, and parents of hearing-impaired children.

Participants will gain a clearer understanding of their emotional responses, tools to recognize trauma, empathetic communication skills, and a safe space for reflection. A follow-up forum discussion will allow for deeper questions and integration of knowledge into real-life situations.

PROFILE

Lilit Abrahamyan is a certified Identity-Oriented Psychotrauma Therapist (IoPT), trauma-informed coach, mentor, and speaker.

With over a decade in corporate leadership and humanitarian work, she was drawn to trauma, identity, and healing. Her personal journey led her to study IoPT under Prof. Franz Ruppert and the Norwegian Traumawork Institutt.

She is also a Life and Business Coach, focusing on trauma behind eating disorders, shame, guilt, and identity splits. Through IoPT’s resonance-based method, she helps individuals and teams in a safe, respectful, and transformative space.

She regularly facilitates sessions on emotional intelligence, eating-related behaviors, trauma healing, and identity reconstruction. A mother of two, she supports others in discovering their truth, clarity, and vitality.

Возраст: следует ли проводить имплантацию раньше 9 месяцев?
КИ при гипоплазии или аплазии слухового нерва
КИ при аудиторной нейропатии (Auditory Neuropathy Spectrum Disorder)
КИ при асимметричной потере слуха
КИ при односторонней глухоте: действительно ли таким пациентам нужен имплант, или достаточно костной проводимости / систем CROS?
Аудиологические критерии
Интервал между двумя КИ: когда проводить вторую имплантацию, а когда нет?

Основное внимание будет уделено критериям направления на оценку для кохлеарной имплантации — насколько они эффективны и как можно выявить больше детей и взрослых, которые могут получить пользу от КИ.

ABSTRACT

В своём докладе д-р Виген Бахшинян, один из ведущих
специалистов по кохлеарной имплантации в странах СНГ,
представит эволюцию показаний к кохлеарной имплантации от
первых этапов развития технологии до современных клинических
подходов.
Особое внимание будет уделено современным критериям отбора
кандидатов, вопросам направления пациентов, а также сложным
клиническим случаям, включая врождённые аномалии внутреннего
уха, аудиторную невропатию и одностороннюю сенсоневральную
глухоту.
Кроме того, будет рассмотрено расширение показаний для
кохлеарной имплантации у взрослых, отражающее рост
клинического опыта и развитие технологий, которые постоянно
расширяют границы слуховой реабилитации.
Доклад будет полезен специалистам и исследователям,
интересующимся современными тенденциями и будущими
направлениями в области кохлеарной имплантации.

1998–2001 Graduated from Yerevan State Medical University and completed ENT residency.
2004 Defended PhD thesis on objective hearing testing methods and became one of the pioneers of cochlear implantation in Armenia.
2006–2022 Worked at the National Research Center for Audiology and Hearing Rehabilitation in Moscow as Head of the CI Center and Deputy Director for Innovation.
Since 2011 Assistant Professor at the Russian Medical Academy for Continuing Professional Education.
Since 2022 Head of CI Center and Deputy Director at the Institute of Experimental and Clinical Audiology; Adviser to the Armenian Minister of Health in Audiology.
Since 2024 Adviser to the Director of the Saint Petersburg ENT Institute on cochlear implantation and hearing rehabilitation.
Since 2025 Director of the Cochlear Implant Program at Erebouni Medical Center, Yerevan.
President of the Armenian Association of Hearing Rehabilitation Specialists;Board Member of the Russian National Medical Association of Audiologists; Member of the International Society of Audiology and the International Academy of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.

Publications

Instead of the usual forum discussion we decided to organize a Round Table on the following topics suggested by Dr. V. Bakhshinyan:

1. Age - do we need to implant earlier than 9 months or not
2. CI in cases with Auditory Neuropathy hypoplasia or aplasia
3. CI in Auditory Neuropathy Spectrum Disorder
4. CI in Asymmetric Hearing Loss
5. CI in Single Sided Deafness - do we really need CI for these patients or bone-conduction or
CROSS devices?
6. Audiologic criteria
7. Time between 2 CI - when to operate or not?
Main focus should be the referral criteria for CI assessment - are they really helpful? Can we have more children and adults for CI from these?

ABSTRACT

In this lecture, Dr. Vigen Bakhshinyan, one of the leading cochlear
implant specialists in the CIS region, will explore the evolution of
indications for cochlear implantation from the early years of the technology to the most advanced approaches used today.

The presentation will focus on modern criteria and decision-making processes for determining CI candidacy, including referral pathways, patient selection strategies, and clinical considerations in complex cases such as inner ear malformations, auditory neuropathy spectrum disorders, and single-sided sensorineural deafness. Special attention will also be given to the expanding indications for cochlear implantation in adults, reflecting how technological advances and growing clinical experience continue to redefine the boundaries of hearing rehabilitation.

This lecture offers both clinicians and researchers valuable insights into the current trends and future directions shaping the field of cochlear implantation worldwide. Parents who are still wondering whether a cochlear implant is an option for their child will certainly get an answer.

Ранний доступ к звукам – это основа развития устной речи у детей с нарушением слуха.
В данной презентации рассматривается взаимозависимая роль аудиологии в философии слухоречевой терапии (Auditory-Verbal Therapy, AVT) и подчеркивается критическая важность совместного, ориентированного на семью подхода. Участники
вебинара получат более глубокое понимание того, как раннее и целенаправленное аудиологическое вмешательство – через раннюю диагностику, техническую поддержку и постоянное сопровождение устройств – напрямую поддерживает цели AVT. На основе

Systemic work with children who have cochlear implants also includes supporting the entire family. When a child has an illness or disability, it affects not only the parents but also their siblings. For the past two years, CIC Rhein-Main (Germany) has been running a sibling support program. In this webinar, you will gain insights into current sibling research, the opportunities and challenges faced by siblings of children with disabilities, and an overview of the sibling program at CIC Rhein-Main. This session will focus on the experiences of affected siblings.

Die systemische Arbeit mit Kindern, die ein Cochlea-Implantat tragen, schließt auch die Unterstützung der gesamten Familie mit ein. Wenn ein Kind eine Erkrankung oder Behinderung hat, betrifft das nicht nur die Eltern, sondern auch die Geschwister. Seit zwei Jahren bietet das CIC Rhein-Main (Deutschland) ein spezielles Geschwister-Programm an.
